Now, French outlet reports that Blanc has emerged as the leading contender to replace him, as he is already employed by INEOS, the group fronted by Ratcliffe, and oversees their sporting portfolio. He has previously worked for both Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

Blanc worked as a sporting market executive at PSG and was chairman at Juventus. He currently works for Nice, a club that Ratcliffe has invested heavily in. It is claimed that he has already agreed a deal to take over at Old Trafford.
