According to reports in The Sun on Sunday, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte’s future has been thrown into doubt after talks over a new contract stalled over his frustrations in the transfer market.
The Blues had been keen to give the Italian a new bumper deal after he led the club to the Premier League title in his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge, and he was expected to put pen to paper soon after the climax of the campaign, according to The Sun on Sunday.
However, no agreement has been found and the report adds that Conte has grown frustrated with the club’s transfer business after missing out on deals for Romelu Lukaku and Leonardo Bonucci, who opted to join Manchester United and AC Milan respectively.
Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, but they believe there is nothing to the story with some even suggesting that Conte “loves the club” and wouldn’t want to leave yet.
