Bayern Munich are reportedly hoping to exploit a transfer precedent set by Chelsea with loanee Nicolas Jackson. The striker secured a deadline day season-long loan move to the German giants with a conditional obligation to buy for £54 million. But it seems the Bundesliga champions are exploring ways to snap up the Senegal international for a smaller fee.
Doubts cast over Jackson's permanent switch to Bayern Munich
Jackson joined Bayern on loan at the start of the month for a fee of £14m ($19m). Plus, Vincent Kompany's side must pay Chelsea £54m ($71m) if the 24-year-old makes 40 appearances – something Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeness described as "impossible".

According to BILD, via Sport Witness, Bayern want to lower that £54m fee and will use Carney Chukwuemeka's move to Borussia Dortmund as an example to follow. The German side had agreed to a €35m (£30m) purchase option for the Blues midfielder but got that down to €20m (£17m) instead. Bayern may hope for something similar with Jackson.
Jackson finally secures Chelsea departure
Jackson, who scored 30 goals in 81 games for Chelsea, nearly saw his move from Stamford Bridge to Bayern collapse due to Liam Delap's injury. That left Enzo Maresca with one fit striker in Joao Pedro after sending Marc Guiu out on loan to Sunderland. But with the youngster being recalled from the Black Cats, Jackson got his wish in the end.
