Speaking at a press conference ahead of Bournemouth's Premier League clash with struggling Sheffield United on Saturday, Cherries boss Andoni Iraola gave a promising update on Adams' fitness. The USMNT star has only featured once for the south-coast side since making a summer move from Leeds United.

“I don’t think we will recover anyone ahead of the weekend but while Tyler Adams is not still fully ready, he played 30 minutes with development squad this week," he said.
“He’s feeling well in the process, we could put him on the bench because we have spaces for him. Personally it may be a good thing but he’s continuing his process and still lacks more training. But he’s doing well.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Adams has been sidelined since September due to a hamstring injury, but he's now back in the mix which is brilliant news for both the Cherries and the USMNT. The midfielder was even named to Gregg Berhalter's 60-man shortlist for the upcoming March Concacaf Nations League semifinals.
With the 25-year-old nearing full time availability, it boosts his odds of being selected for the Copa America this summer and potentially the Paris Olympic Games as one of the over-age players permitted to represent the USA.
